The Ride Safe program is provided by the Police Department. Their services are offered 7 days a week between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. with limited service on the weekend. Ride Safe serves as the extra set of eyes and ears for the university. Their primary duties include transporting students, faculty, staff, alumni and their guests safely around campus at night on designated routes; Ensuring the safe crossing of students and GSU personnel at crosswalks and streets; Accompanying students and GSU personnel safely to their personal vehicles and nearby Marta stations at night; and keeping a visual on students, GSU property, and surrounding area to deter any suspicious activity. These duties are accomplished in 3 ways: by providing 4 shuttle routes, and bike patrols around campus, and strategically placing units on stationary posts in plain sight in various locations around campus.
