It is requested that the Georgia State University Police Department supply personnel for the security of the event listed. It is understood that the security plan must be coordinated through the Office of the Support Services of the Georgia State University Police Department. Appropriate arrangements will be made by the Support Services office to insure that each staff member is properly equipped and informed of his/her duties and responsibilities as related to the event. It is understood that the officer(s) working the event are employees of the Georgia State University Police Department and remain under its supervision and control. Any questions should be directed to the Special Events Coordinator at (404) 413-3272. ***RATE INCREASE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024*** Compensation for internal (GSU) requests will be processed at a rate of $50 per hour and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours, for each police officer or dispatcher. If required, the rate for police or dispatch supervisors will be processed at a rate of $60 per hour for each supervisor and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours. Requests for security officers will be processed at a rate of $40 per hour and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours, for each security officer. If required, the rate for security supervisors will be processed at a rate of $45 per hour for each supervisor and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours. Compensation for external (non-GSU) requests will be processed at a rate of $60 per hour and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours, for each police officer or dispatcher. If required, the rate for police or dispatch supervisors will be processed at a rate of $70 per hour for each supervisor and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours. In cases where police commanders are required, compensation will be processed at a rate of $90 per hour for each commander and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours. External requests for security officers will be processed at a rate of $45 per hour and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours, for each security officer. If required, the rate for security supervisors will be processed at a rate of $50 per hour for each security supervisor and a mandatory minimum of four (4) hours. Events exceeding four (4) hours will be billed for the actual hours that each police officer, dispatcher, and security officer works. Invoices will be sent to the contact person included on the form. Making a request for police officers, dispatchers, or security officers does not guarantee one will be provided. If the Georgia State University Police Department is unable to provide the requested number of personnel, notification will be made to the event coordinator no later than one business day after receipt of the request. Requests must be made at least ten (10) business days prior to the event. If a lane or street closure is required for the event, the request must be made at least thirty (30) days prior to the event.
