The Department of Safety and Risk Management currently offers the courses listed below:

Minors on Campus Annual Training

Course Length:  1.5 hours

Fee:  No Fee

(Who should attend?  MANDATORY ANNUAL TRAINING for Program Directors/Program Coordinators)

This annual training is for GSU Faculty, Staff and Volunteers of Programs Serving Non-Student Minors Policy (“Policy”) sets forth certain operational standards for the activities described herein, in compliance with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia Policy 12.9 (“Programs Serving Minors”).

 

Defensive Driving – 6 Hour Course

Course Length: 6 hour

Fee: No fee

(Who Should Attend:  GSU Faculty, Staff, graduate assistants, and students)

This course is recommended for employees who drive GSU owned vehicles or their personal vehicles for GSU business.  The DDC 6HR Course is conducted in (2) 3 hour sessions on (2) consecutive days the second week of each month from 9am – noon.  Attendance and punctuality required both days to receive a certificate.  May receive insurance discount, please check with your agent and carrier.  The course is offered the Second Monday & Tuesday of each month:

Dec. 11 & 12th,  Jan. 8 & 9th,  Feb. 12 & 13th,   Mar. 12 & 13th,  Apr. 16 & 17th,  May 7 & 8th,  June 11 & 12th,   July 9 & 10th

Defensive Driving - 6 Hour Course Registration

 

Personal Transportation Vehicle (PTVs)

Course Length: 1 hour

Fee: No fee

(Who Should Attend: GSU staff, faculty, grad assistants, volunteers who are authorized to drive a PTV i.e. golf cart, GEM car, as part of their job. MANDATORY TRAINING)

This course is required for golf cart and gem car operators. The presentation and video explain how to safely operate and use golf carts. This course emphasizes safety and proper procedures when operating a PTV. A Personal Transportation Vehicle Safety Certificate is issued for attending.

The course is offered on Dec. 19th,  Jan. 18th,  Feb. 22nd,  Mar. 22nd,  Apr. 26th,  May 17th,  June 21st,  July 19th
